Habit AI features

Everything Habit AI does, in detail. For the short version, see how Habit AI works.

Natural language habit creation

Type a habit the way you would say it. "Read 20 pages every weekday" or "gym 4 times a week" is enough: Habit AI reads the sentence and fills in the habit type, target, schedule, and category.

This removes the setup form that stops most people on day one. Adding a habit costs a sentence rather than six fields, which matters because the habits people never add are the ones they never track.

Four ways to log, because habits are not all checkboxes

Yes/no for the binary ones. A quantity for water, pages, or reps. A timer for meditation, practice, or focused work. A 1 to 5 scale for things like mood, energy, or sleep quality that have no clean number.

Matching the log type to the habit is what makes the data worth reading later. A meditation habit logged as a checkbox tells you nothing about whether the sessions got longer.

Streaks with partial credit

Most trackers reset your streak to zero the moment you fall short of the target. That all-or-nothing rule is the single most common reason people abandon a habit app: one imperfect day turns into a reason to stop entirely.

Habit AI counts partial progress as partial progress. Log something below your target and the streak survives. Bronze, silver, gold, platinum, and diamond tiers mark 3, 7, 30, 100, and 365 days, so the milestones reward the long game rather than a perfect week.

Forty badges across eight families

Badges cover categories like hydration, movement, stillness, and knowledge, with five tiers per family from bronze to diamond. Earn them the same way streaks work: show up over 3, 7, 30, 100, and 365 days.

When a badge unlocks it turns like a coin. A strip on Today shows what you have earned so far, and you can open the full gallery anytime. Prefer a quieter home screen? Hide the strip in Settings.

Share Stories and square cards

Share a full-screen Instagram Story in one tap, or a square card sized for X, with the Habit AI mark and a caption friends can act on.

You can share a streak, a weekly recap, all-time totals, a perfect day, or a badge you just unlocked, without cropping a raw screenshot into a broken post.

Customize Today and the mascot

Show or hide streaks, supplements, and the badges strip so Today matches how much detail you want on a busy morning.

Dress the mascot in the avatar studio (extra looks unlock with Pro), and use Soft Graphite as the default app icon if you want the home screen quieter than a bright brand mark.

On-device AI coach

The coach runs on Apple Intelligence models executing locally on your iPhone. It reads your habits, patterns, and consistency to produce summaries, suggestions, and encouragement.

Your habit data is never sent to an AI server, because there is no AI server involved. You can verify this the direct way: put the phone in airplane mode and the coach still works.

AI features need an Apple Intelligence-capable iPhone. On any other iPhone running iOS 17 or later, everything else in this list works normally.

Analytics, trends, and heat maps

Interactive charts for active days, success rates, and consistency across 28-day windows. Habit rings for daily completion. Calendar heat maps for the long view, and rankings that show which habits are actually sticking and which are quietly being skipped.

Export the whole history to CSV whenever you want it. Your record is portable, not locked behind a subscription.

Apple Health sync

Connect Apple Health and metrics such as steps, sleep, and water can update the matching habits automatically, so anything your watch or phone already measures does not need logging twice.

You choose which data types to share, and you can revoke access at any time from the Health app.

Body metrics and supplement tracking

Weight, waist, and other measurements live alongside your habits with their own trend charts. Daily supplements and pill schedules get checked off in the same place.

This is deliberate consolidation: the alternative is three separate apps that each hold one third of the picture and none of which can show you how the parts relate.

Home screen widgets

Widgets keep today's habits visible without opening the app, which is usually the difference between a habit that gets logged and one that quietly gets skipped. Small, medium, and large sizes stay in lockstep with what you log inside the app.

Offline-first storage and optional backup

Habit AI keeps your data on your iPhone and works fully with no account and no internet connection.

Signing in with Apple or Google is optional and adds a secure backup to your account so you can restore on a new device or sync across devices. Signed out, nothing syncs anywhere.
